The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has expressed deep concern over the alleged enforced disappearance of two women from Kech district, warning that the targeting of women is spreading fear and uncertainty across Baloch society. According to the BWF and reporting by The Balochistan Post, Zubaida, wife of Haji Badal, and her daughter-in-law Zarnaz, wife of Daulat, were reportedly taken during a late-night raid in Tejaban and moved to an undisclosed location. Their families say they have received no official information about the women’s safety, legal status, or whereabouts.
BWF noted that the disappearances compound an earlier tragedy for the same family: the killing of Daulat, son of Haji Badal, on February 18, 2026. The forum described that killing as an assault carried out by a state-supported death squad and said the subsequent disappearance of his mother and wife has further deepened the family’s suffering, raising serious humanitarian and human-rights concerns.
Calling enforced disappearances unacceptable under any circumstances, the BWF urged all relevant institutions to take immediate, effective, and meaningful action to halt such practices and to protect the safety, dignity, and rights of women. The group stressed the need for transparent investigations and accountability for those responsible.
Human-rights groups and activists say enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings remain a major concern in Balochistan. Families of the missing often spend years seeking information, while activists accuse security forces of unlawful detentions and staged encounters. Despite protests and reports from rights organizations, critics say accountability has been limited, intensifying fear, anger, and mistrust between the state and the Baloch community.
The account of the disappearances was reported by The Balochistan Post and distributed via ANI.
