Bengaluru: A US-based doctor who had come to the city for her nephew’s wedding allegedly lost gold ornaments worth about Rs 1 crore at a marriage hall, police said on Monday. The incident occurred on April 22 at a wedding hall on Old Madras Road. In her complaint, she said she had arrived from the US on April 18 to attend the wedding and had brought around 725 grams of gold ornaments valued at about Rs 1 crore. She was staying with her brother in Ganganagar. The doctor alleged she wore some ornaments and kept the rest inside a locked room at the wedding hall; when she returned later, the valuables were missing. She said a female worker at the hall had entered the room while she was changing and later left, and she suspects her, the FIR stated. A case was registered under Section 305 (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Avalahalli police station, and further investigation is underway.
