Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 25 (ANI): Speaking at the Diplomatic Conclave organised by Woxsen University in Hyderabad, Argentine Ambassador Mariano Caucino said Argentina and India “enjoy a very elevated degree of complementarity”.
The envoy noted that India has become Argentina’s sixth economic partner and stressed that “our countries maintain a growing economic interaction stemming from the objective complementarity between our economies”. He added that since elevating relations to strategic partners in 2019, the volume of economic and trade ties has significantly increased.
At the conclave, attended by ambassadors from Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama, Caucino discussed world affairs, saying natural competition reflects the aspirations and ambitions of sovereign states in an interconnected world. He described India’s strategy of diversifying partners as a “wise policy” and pointed out that Argentina already contributes to India’s food security and can also help with energy security.
Caucino observed that India is becoming a decisive global actor and that “2025 was a historic year in our bilateral relations since we had the opportunity to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Argentina”. He also highlighted that despite geographic distance, cooperation has reached the point where Argentina is India’s main supplier of edible oils and that collaboration in critical minerals is becoming strategic.
In a post on X, Caucino wrote: “Participating in the Diplomatic Conclave at Woxsen University in Hyderabad with my colleague ambassadors from Costa Rica, Panama, and Mexico. Held great discussions on India-Latin America cooperation, World Affairs and Education. Thanks to Woxsen University!” (ANI)
