New Delhi [India], April 27 (ANI): General Kevin Schneider, Commander of US Pacific Air Forces, visited India April 19-25 to reinforce the United States’ commitment to deepening its strategic defence partnership with India and advancing a shared vision for a secure, stable Indo-Pacific, an official statement said.
During the visit, General Schneider met senior Indian defence leaders, including counterparts from the Indian Air Force, to bolster longstanding military ties and explore expanded operational collaboration. The visit highlighted the growing scope, complexity, and interoperability of US-India cooperation across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains.
A central focus was advancing logistics cooperation. Strengthened logistics frameworks and agreements aim to enable seamless coordination, improve readiness, and support rapid, coordinated responses to humanitarian crises and regional contingencies, enhancing both countries’ ability to provide timely assistance and maintain an operational presence across the Indo-Pacific.
General Schneider visited operational and training facilities, underscoring increasing integration and trust between US and Indian forces and a shared commitment to modernising capabilities to address emerging security challenges.
The United States values India as a vital partner in promoting peace, security, and prosperity in the region, the statement said, noting the visit reaffirms the US-India Major Defence Partnership and momentum in expanding defence collaboration to meet evolving regional and global challenges.
The Indian Air Force posted that General Schneider laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour, and interacted with senior IAF leadership, including a call on Air Chief Marshal AP Singh. (ANI)
