Washington DC, December 13 (ANI): President Donald Trump on Friday minimized the significance of newly released photographs showing him alongside convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, calling the matter “no big deal.”
Speaking from the Oval Office when asked about images released by the House Oversight Committee that include Trump, Bill Clinton and Steve Bannon, Trump said, “I haven’t seen them, but I mean, everybody knew this man. He was all over Palm Beach.” He added, “He (Epstein) has photos with everybody. I mean, almost there are hundreds and hundreds of people that have photos with him. So that’s no big deal. I know nothing about him.”
Democratic members of the Oversight Committee released 19 previously unseen photos from Epstein’s estate on Friday. The committee said these are a small selection from a cache of more than 95,000 images it obtained. The released pictures show various prominent figures in Epstein’s circle, including current President Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Virgin founder Richard Branson, and others, prompting renewed calls for full disclosure of Epstein-related records and accusations of a White House “cover-up.”
One image appears to show a bowl of novelty condoms bearing a caricature of Trump with the caption “I’m HUUUUGE!” produced by New York store Fishs Eddy. Other photos reportedly show Steve Bannon taking a mirror selfie with Epstein, Bill Clinton with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and Bill Gates with former Prince Andrew. None of the released photos are believed to show misconduct, and details about when, where, or by whom they were taken remain unclear.
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson accused House Democrats of “selectively releasing cherry-picked photos with random redactions to try and create a false narrative,” and pointed to Democrats previously linked to Epstein in documents, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Delegate Stacey Plaskett. Jackson said the Trump administration has supported Epstein’s victims, calling for transparency, releasing thousands of documents, and investigating Epstein’s ties to Democratic figures. “The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked and the Trump Administration has done more for Epstein’s victims than Democrats ever have…” she said.
