The Indian missions in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and other Gulf countries on Saturday issued advisories urging Indian nationals to “exercise utmost caution” and to follow local authorities’ guidance, after a joint US-Israel strike on Iran.
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi asked Indians in the UAE to avoid unnecessary travel, remain vigilant and follow UAE authorities’ and the Embassy’s safety advisories. The Embassy and the Consulate General in Dubai said they are functioning normally and provided emergency contact details: Toll-free 800-46342, WhatsApp +971543090571, and emails [email protected] and [email protected].
The Embassy of India in Riyadh advised Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia to remain vigilant and adhere to local safety guidelines and Embassy advisories. It said the Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are functioning normally and will issue updates as needed. Emergency contacts given were 00-966-11-4884697, 00-966-542126748 (WhatsApp only), 800 247 1234 (Toll-Free) and email (cw.riyadha mea.gov.in).
In Jordan, the Indian Embassy advised all Indian nationals and tourists to exercise utmost caution, stay safe and follow local advisories. It urged Indian tourists to leave Jordan immediately before commercial flight operations are disrupted, and provided an emergency number: 00962-770 422 276.
The Embassy of India in Bahrain advised Indians to take due care and follow news and advisories from the Embassy and local authorities. It said it is operating as usual and shared a 24/7 helpline: 00973-39418071.
The Representative Office of India in Ramallah advised Indian nationals in Palestine to remain vigilant, observe local safety and emergency procedures, avoid unnecessary movement, and provided contacts: +970592916418 and [email protected] / [email protected].
The joint US-Israel action prompted wider regional hostilities: Iran’s paramilitary launched drones and missiles targeting Israel; Bahrain reported a missile attack on a US Navy fleet headquarters; local witnesses reported sirens and explosions in Kuwait, and explosions were reported in Qatar. Iraq and the UAE said they have closed their airspace.
