A Pakistani national died after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell in Abu Dhabi’s Bani Yas area on Tuesday, authorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi said, as the wider conflict between US-Israel and Iran entered its third week.
“Abu Dhabi authorities have responded to an incident involving falling debris in the Baniyas area, following the interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems. The incident resulted in the death of a Pakistani national,” the Abu Dhabi government media office said in a statement posted on its X platform.
The statement urged the public to rely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified reports.
Earlier, the UAE said its air defence systems had responded to a missile threat. Explosions were also reported in Dubai and Doha, Qatar.
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior said emergency response teams were attending to a fire in an industrial zone that was triggered by falling debris after an aerial threat was successfully neutralised.
