Tehran [Iran], March 27 (ANI): The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced the launch of the 83rd wave of Operation True Promise 4 in the early hours of Friday, saying it targeted key American and Israeli military installations across the region with advanced missiles and drones, Press TV reported.
Press TV said targets included storage tanks and the oil depot in Ashdod, a military personnel site in the Modi’in settlement, and a US military information exchange center in the region. The IRGC also reported strikes on American military bases at Al-Dhafra and Al-Udeiri, and on maintenance and storage hangars for transport aircraft and drones at Ali Al-Salem Air Base.
Other assets reportedly hit included fuel tanks for jets and fighter aircraft of American forces, and the maintenance and repair hangar for the Patriot missile system at Sheikh Isa Base. According to the IRGC statement cited by Press TV, the strikes used a mix of long-range and medium-range systems, solid- and liquid-fuel missiles, precision-strike and multi-warhead capabilities, plus suicide and loitering drones.
The strikes come amid a temporary easing signalled by US President Trump, who said Iran sought a seven-day pause on American strikes targeting its energy infrastructure and that he extended the window to 10 days to April 6; despite that, strikes by combined US-Israel forces have continued. The Institute for the Study of War said the combined force has kept striking Iranian missile forces and launchers as well as missile storage and production facilities, and has intensified strikes against Iran’s defence industrial base, likely including the 7th Artesh Air Force Tactical Airbase in Shiraz, Fars Province.
International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi reiterated deep concern about recent military strikes reportedly occurring near Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, the latest on Tuesday evening. (ANI)
