Russian air defences intercepted two drones headed for Moscow on Monday, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported, citing the Defense Ministry. First responders were working at the crash sites, and authorities earlier said a drone had struck a residential building in west Moscow. No casualties were reported, and officials gave few further details on damage.
Sobyanin wrote on Max that the air defense forces had repelled the attack of the two Moscow-bound drones. Local agencies, quoted by Tass, said emergency teams were on scene to secure the areas where the drones came down.
Meanwhile in Yerevan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as part of a series of talks ahead of the European Political Community (EPC) summit. Zelenskyy praised the UK’s actions against the so-called shadow fleet and thanked Britain for training missions for Ukrainian forces, saying such measures are already having an economic impact on Russia.
On X, Zelenskyy said the first day of meetings in Armenia was devoted to coordinating with European partners and outlined three main objectives. First, he said, is to do everything possible to bring a dignified end to the war through stronger diplomatic efforts and sustained pressure on Russia. Second, he emphasized implementing a EUR 90 billion European support package for Ukraine and preparing for the coming winter, including diversifying energy assistance. Third, he stressed strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and energy-sector cooperation with partners to ensure readiness for the next heating season.
Ahead of the EPC summit, Zelenskyy also held talks with leaders from Norway, Finland and the Czech Republic as Kyiv works to consolidate European support during the ongoing conflict with Russia. European leaders arrived in Armenia on Sunday for the 8th EPC summit to discuss cooperation and regional security.
