Tel Aviv, May 7 — The Israeli Air Force said it struck infrastructure used by Hezbollah for military purposes, targeting facilities in the Nabatieh area it said were involved in producing combat materiel and a number of buildings used for military operations.
In a post on X, the IAF said it “struck a short while ago an infrastructure for producing means of combat and several buildings in military use by the terrorist organization Hezbollah in the Nabatieh area.” It added that overnight roughly 20 additional Hezbollah military targets in southern Lebanon were hit, including weapons storage sites; a launch position for unmanned aerial vehicles; structures used to launch drones toward Israeli forces; and a cell that transferred weaponry using a truck.
The IAF said the Israel Defense Forces continue to act to remove threats to Israeli civilians and IDF personnel in southern Lebanon. Since the start of the ceasefire understandings, the military said, more than 220 Hezbollah fighters and commanders who posed threats to IDF forces and Israeli citizens have been eliminated.
The Air Force also said a precision strike in Dahiyeh, Beirut, killed the commander of Hezbollah’s “Radwan Force” unit.
Separately, the Israeli military ordered residents to evacuate three new areas of southern Lebanon—Deir al-Zahrani, Bafroa and Habush—warning that, “in light of the terrorist group Hezbollah’s violation of the ceasefire agreement, [we] are compelled to take decisive action against it,” and that anyone remaining near Hezbollah operatives, facilities or equipment is at risk.
