Tehran, March 28 (ANI) — Iran said Saturday that security forces dismantled a “terrorist cell” in northern Golestan province and arrested two suspects accused of plotting an armed attack, Tasnim News Agency reported.
Tasnim said intelligence units identified the group through surveillance and public reports and alleged links to the United States and Israel. Officials said the suspects were detained before carrying out an operation targeting security forces. A raid on a hideout in Gorgan reportedly yielded four Colt rifles and 43 rounds of ammunition.
Elsewhere, the Jerusalem Post reported that four drones crossed into Israel from Lebanon on Saturday morning. Israeli Air Defence intercepted three; a fourth remained airborne over the Haifa Bay area as security forces worked to neutralise it. No injuries or damage were reported.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry issued a public safety alert on X after warning sirens were activated, urging citizens and residents to remain calm and go to the nearest safe place.
Earlier Saturday, a missile was launched from Yemen toward Israel — the first such Houthi attack since “Operation Roaring Lion” began a month ago, the Israel Defence Forces said. Israeli air-defence systems were activated and sirens sounded across Beersheba and nearby Negev communities. There were no immediate reports of casualties or direct impacts.
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) also claimed it targeted six US-operated tactical vessels in Persian Gulf waters, saying a large number of American forces had been killed. The IRGC statement said naval units carried out a hybrid operation as part of the 84th wave of “Operation True Promise 4,” striking targets at al-Shoyoukh port and along Dubai’s coasts and port.
These developments come amid heightened tensions across West Asia. (ANI)
