Tel Aviv [Israel], February 28 (ANI): As Israel and the US carried out joint military strikes in Iran, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv on Saturday issued an advisory asking all Indian nationals in Israel to exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant.
The Embassy posted on X that Indian nationals should stay close to designated shelters and familiarise themselves with the nearest protected spaces at their residence or workplace. It advised avoiding all non-essential travel within Israel until further notice and urged citizens to monitor local news, official announcements, and emergency alerts. Also on Saturday, the Indian Embassy in Jordan issued an advisory following Israeli strikes into Iran, asking Indian nationals and tourists to exercise utmost caution and leave Jordan immediately before commercial flight operations are disrupted. Reports said Israel launched a preventive missile attack against Iran on Saturday, with sirens sounded across the nation as a proactive alert for possible incoming missiles. The Israeli Defence Forces called on the public to stay near protected spaces. TPS reported Defence Minister Israel Katz said the preemptive strikes aimed to remove threats to the country. The Jerusalem Post cited a security source saying the United States was also involved in the strikes.
An Iranian official told Reuters that Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was not in Tehran and had been moved to a “secure location.” Iranian state media reported explosions in Tehran.
