Tel Aviv, March 8 (ANI) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the Israeli Air Force (IAF) carried out targeted strikes on multiple Iranian military assets in Tehran.
In a post on X, the IDF wrote: “STRUCK: Several Fuel Storage Complexes Belonging to the IRGC in Tehran.” The military said the strikes were guided by IDF intelligence and hit complexes the IRGC used to distribute fuel to various Iranian military entities, adding that “The strike significantly deepens the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime.” The announcement included a graphic identifying a “fuel storage facility in Tehran used by the military forces of the Iranian terror regime,” underscoring the strategic nature of the targets.
In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared the start of its 27th offensive under Operation True Promise 4, framed as retaliation for a new wave of “unprovoked US-Israeli aggression,” Iranian state broadcaster Press TV reported. The IRGC described the phase as integrated drone and missile barrages, including missile counter-offensives against Israeli military infrastructure in the northern occupied territories.
The IRGC said the strikes used newly developed solid-fuel missiles from its Aerospace Division. “Zionist military targets in [the occupied city of] Haifa were struck by the IRGC’s Aerospace Division’s new solid-fuel Kheibar-Shekan missiles, which possess terminal guidance capability up to the point of impact,” the dispatch stated.
Press TV reported that unmanned aerial systems struck a site housing American personnel, noting drone units “successfully targeted the location where American forces are stationed in ‘Marina’, in the vicinity of the buildings of the ‘Warner Brothers’ company.” Simultaneously, the IRGC Navy said it struck facilities tied to the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, including the command center for unmanned surface vessels and military support hangars at Salman Port, which it described as belonging to “American terrorist forces.”
The IRGC also claimed its monitoring indicates the Israeli administration is “attempting to create a human shield to protect its military personnel by confining residents of the occupied territories to northern and central areas.” Press TV reported that continuous retaliatory strikes have produced repeated emergency sirens across the region, describing the atmosphere as “siren after siren.”
The IRGC warned it is prepared for prolonged escalation, saying its forces “are lying in wait for American forces with precision and planning.” Operation True Promise 4 reportedly began immediately after foreign strikes the previous Saturday. Since then, the IRGC has said it launched hundreds of ballistic missiles and suicide drones at strategic interests, including targets in Tel Aviv, the “holy occupied city of al-Quds”, and the technology centre of Be’er Sheva. Earlier reports also claimed engagements against the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and a destroyer in the Indian Ocean. (ANI)
