President Donald Trump said a reported “gift from China to Iran” intercepted by US forces is “very top secret,” declining to provide further details while emphasising America’s control over blockade measures against Iran.
Speaking at the White House, Trump asserted the US has enforced an “airtight” blockade and claimed no shipments are getting through. He described the operation as highly effective and warned that Iran’s recent regional actions could prove to be “a big mistake.”
“That is very top secret… What we have done with the blockade is amazing, and nobody gets through. Nobody wants to get through; nobody’s trying… We have complete control,” Trump said, adding that Iran had struck multiple countries in the region. “For Iran to shoot at Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, all the different places, they shot, nobody expected that. They thought they would shoot at Israel at all fairness, but you didn’t expect they would be shooting at numerous other countries. I think it was a big mistake. If they’re putting mines down, it’s a big mistake for them, I will say.”
Earlier on Truth Social, Trump said he is under no pressure to reach a deal with Iran, arguing Tehran is in a weakened military and economic position. He maintained any agreement would only be acceptable if it served US and allied interests and reiterated that time is not on Iran’s side, claiming the country’s naval and air capabilities have been severely diminished.
