New Delhi, Apr 07, 2026 — Air India Group will operate 32 scheduled and non‑scheduled flights to and from West Asia on Tuesday, increasing ad‑hoc services to the United Arab Emirates as regional airspace restrictions and geopolitical tensions continue to disrupt travel. IndiGo has also said it will run selected services while carriers adjust timetables in real time.
Half of the 32 movements — 16 flights — are non‑scheduled ad‑hoc services to and from the UAE, aimed at preserving India‑UAE connectivity amid cancellations, reroutings and slot limitations. These extra flights remain subject to regulatory approval and operational feasibility.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are being served primarily through ad‑hoc operations. Air India will operate a Delhi–Dubai sector and Air India Express will run Mangalore–Dubai. Abu Dhabi will see expanded links via Air India Express from Delhi, Kochi, Mangalore and Mumbai. Sharjah connections will include Amritsar and Kannur. Ras Al Khaimah is open to limited ad‑hoc movements, while Al Ain continues to have no services.
In Oman, scheduled Muscat services will continue, with Air India Express flying from Delhi and Mumbai; Salalah remains suspended.
Saudi routes are operating partially: Jeddah will be served by Air India from Mumbai and by Air India Express from Hyderabad, Kannur and Kozhikode. Riyadh will have scheduled flights from Delhi and Kozhikode. Dammam currently has no operations.
Services to Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait and Tel Aviv are suspended, highlighting the concentrated impact on West Asia routes. Air India said its long‑haul services to North America, Europe and Australia are operating normally.
Passengers impacted by cancellations are being offered free rebooking or full refunds. Air India Express is permitting UAE‑bound travellers to move to alternate flights within its network without extra charges, and the group is contacting affected customers to assist with rescheduling. Additional ad‑hoc flights are being considered depending on approvals and demand.
IndiGo said it will operate selected Middle East sectors and will continuously review schedules with aviation authorities. Travellers are advised to check flight status before heading to the airport as timetables remain fluid.
