Tel Aviv [Israel], March 22 (ANI): The Israeli military said a fresh barrage of missiles was launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, marking a major escalation in the aerial offensive.
Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli Home Front Command said “rescue crews are heading to central Israel” after a strike in the initial phase of the attack. Military officials said the situation is fluid as they track incoming threats, and Al Jazeera noted a “new wave of missiles launched from Iran towards Israel,” making this the second high-alert in about an hour.
Local outlets including Channel 12 reported effects on the ground: at least one person was injured in Holon during the opening engagements, and explosions were heard in central Israel shortly after projectiles entered Israeli airspace.
The Israeli military confirmed that its “air defences are currently working to intercept a new wave of Iranian missiles” as part of efforts to neutralise threats aimed at urban and strategic centres. Earlier strikes produced casualties; Al Jazeera cited Israeli Army Radio saying about “150 injured individuals arrived at the Soroka Medical Centre” following Iranian strikes on Dimona and Arad.
As the second wave continued, the military reiterated that its “air defence systems are working to intercept the incoming threat” to limit further damage. While assessments are ongoing, Al Jazeera said there were “no immediate reports of casualties or damage” from the most recent explosions in the central region. (ANI)
