A truck travelling from Italy to Poland became the target of a chocolate heist — reportedly 12 tonnes of KitKats were taken.
KitKat’s team responded by launching a Stolen KitKat Tracker so customers can check whether a bar they bought is from the missing batch. To use it, open the link provided by the brand, find the “Stolen KitKat Tracker” option and enter the ID number on your chocolate bar into the box to see if it’s listed as stolen.
Nestlé KitKat’s official statement said the theft was real and not a stunt or an April Fool’s joke. “Someone really stole 12 tonnes of KitKats. And we really want to know where they’ve gone. So, we’ve created a Stolen KitKat Tracker that lets you check if your KitKat is from the missing batch,” the statement read. The brand asked customers to help find the missing chocolates and directed them to the tracker link.
The post about the tracker was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the handle “KITKAT.”
